Comparative Biochemical Composition of Seminal Plasma and its Clinical Usefulness

Seminal plasma represents a very interesting fluid for studying semen, with relevance to diluents/extenders, optimizing freezing protocols and understanding reproductive failure. Together with the reductionist approach, in this work we consider different species and, with the use of results from automated clinical equipment, provide some ranges of the most common and economically derived parameters. Improved understanding of the biochemistry of seminal plasma may increase the accuracy and precision of the BSE and increase understanding of infertility of domestic breeder males especially when integrated with the classical clinical approach.
